February 11, 2012

Dance, enjoy music and celebrate the region's love of the arts on the fun, relaxing grounds of the Tallahassee Museum, as the Museum hosts the Saturday Matinee of the Arts alongside Florida State University's Seven Days of Opening Nights. During Saturday Matinee of the Arts, children will have the opportunity to play and partake in activities that are just for them! There will be plenty for adults to enjoy as well. [ MORE ]

March 24, 2012

Enjoy a hearty, outdoor meal at our Pioneer Breakfast on the 1880s farmstead. This down-home fundraiser features freshly grilled sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes and real Bradley's grits. The Museum's Board of Trustees will serve up heaping helpings, along with coffee, juice and milk. Then sit down at the long tables under the trees and strike up a conversation with your neighbors. March 24 & 25, 2012

The Tallahassee Jazz & Blues Festival serves up hot jazz, cool blues, funky fusion, old school swing and rockin' contemporary on the Tallahassee Museum's outdoor stage in an annual festival that lets families and individuals of all ages enjoy the span of this rich genre of music in a natural and fun environment.

The two-day event features performances of traditional and contemporary jazz and blues, including R&B, Dixieland jazz, swing, fusion, and rockin' contemporary blues. [ MORE ]

July 2012

Like saltwater music, much of the acoustic music performed annually at the Swamp Stomp has the authentic sound and feel of Old Florida, evoking images of salt marshes, cool rivers, limestone sinks, and red clay roads. Over the years, it has by its singer-songwriter nature adopted the youthful sounds of contemporary acoustic music, rich with sincere lyrics, ripe for free-flowing jam sessions. [ MORE ]

October 2012

Zoobilee is one of the biggest parties of the year and a valuable “fun-raiser” for the Museum’s educational activities. It gives grown-ups the opportunity to enjoy the natural setting of the Tallahassee Museum after-hours while also enjoying ample food from many regional restaurants, open bar and and live music in a casual atmosphere. October 2012

Goblins and ghosts will be lurking at the Tallahassee Museum as we transform the grounds into a fantasy land of terrifying haunted trails and childhood make-believe.

This fright night of fun for all ages begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. each night of the two-day event [ MORE ]

Fall 2012

Fall Farm Day

A long-time community tradition, the Tallahassee Museum held its first sugar cane grinding demonstration in November 1961. Fall Farm Day was born soon after and has remained a treasured annual event.

Come enjoy delicious cane syrup made the old fashioned, traditional way, right before your eyes and celebrate our region's heritage and culture. An array of engaging and informative activities will be offered by a variety of area organizations and individuals.

December 1 & 2, 2012

Market Days is one of the largest and finest juried arts and crafts shows in the Southeast, with an attendance of 15,000+. Held each year at the North Florida Fairgrounds approximately 300 arts and craftspeople display and sell their original and handmade creations, from fine arts to charming stocking stuffers. Market Days is the perfect venue for unique and well-priced gifts for the holiday season. [ MORE ]
